Wow. I think everyone can agree that what happened Sunday night was incredible.
Let's set it up: Chris and Ken are tied 9-9 with two games left. The only players left from either game was Adrian Gonzalez, on Chris' team and Russell Martin on Ken's team.
Chris trailed walks by two going into the ninth inning. Check out what happened after the jump.
The Dodgers are cruising to victory with a 6-1 lead with Billingsley cruising and Broxton warming up. But, incredibly, the Padres score five in the ninth to send it into extra innings. Gonzalez was not involved, as he struck out.
The best way for me to tell this story is to just let you read the text messages I got from both parties. Nothing else can do it justice.
7:56 p.m.
Game tied 6-6, bottom of the 10th inning. Adrian Gonzalez is intentionally walked.
-Ken: "Why won't this Dodger game end, this has bad news all over it. They just intentionally walked Adrian Gonzo, he walks again and I lose."
-Chris: "I need a walk man."
8:36:35 p.m.
Dodgers lead 7-6, bottom of the 13th, 1 out, no one on and Adrian Gonzalez is intentionally walked! Read that again - no one on base with the lead!!!
-Ken: "THEY FUCKING INTENTIONALLY WALKED HIM AGAIN, WHO DOES THAT UP 1 RUN??"
8:36:44 p.m.
-Chris: "Hahahahahaha!!!"
8:37:44 p.m.
-Ken: "Fuckin horrible man I can't believe this"
8:37:50 p.m.
-Chris: "Hahahaha whoooo"
8:39:50 p.m.
-Ken: "Just disgusted, and why the fuck is Hanley getting days off"

-Ken: "I'm gonna break every water cooler I can find in the clubhouse"

-Chris: "Lol this deserves a blog."
Yes, Chris, yes it does.
Un-be-liev-a-ble!!! Second time this year we've had someone lose because a game went incredible long extra innings with a big late comeback! WOW!
How is Ken going to respond to this walk-off loss?

ReplyDeleteHaaaa, comes at me with some Gaborik. First off, yes horrible contract. If he can stay healthy then we are fine, but def a big IF. But when the goalie your team signed is Ray Emery, then you get no chance to take a shot at Rangers. Hahahah Ray fucking Emery, I guess you figured you needed a fighter and not a goalie.

ReplyDeleteu guys are still a mess with Gaborik, with our defense better we just need one of Boucher or Emery to be serviceable and we'll get by with our defense and forwards. Can't wait for Pronger to check Gaborik on his ass and send him out for a month.

But then you have matt carle- whose been on like 17 teams in 3 years-, Rathje- who the hell knew he was still in the league-, and the kid Parent. So just how good is your D, with a weak ass goalie you guys better put up 5 a night. And thats gonna be tough when your O is worse then what it was last year. Haaaaa NYR '09!!!
ReplyDeleteHa, show how much u know about hockey, Rathje hasn't played in 2 years pal, and Carle had a nice season last year and is on his 3rd team of his career, he wasn't that good for Tampa, but once he got traded here he was just as good as he was on the Sharks and he's gonna be on our 3rd D pairing. Parent is a former 1st round pick and is a solid NHL defensemen, so I think we will be fine with Pronger, Coburn, Timonen, Parent, Carle, and Jones and they will make Emery/Boucher look better bc we won't have that bitch Sidney Crosby beating on our goalie, and that's all I'll say about hockey haha, sorry for bringing it up I just had to.
