Sure by now you've heard - and heard, and heard - about the Taser incident at Citizens Bank Park.
But one aspect of the incident that has not been discussed anywhere in the media is the concern of fantasy managers.
We saw during the incident Raul Ibanez back away as he thought the fan was approaching him. What if Ibanez were to have twisted an ankle while in motion? What if one of these idiot fans was too drunk and tackled an outfielder causing a shoulder injury?
Dave owns three Phillies - Raul Ibanez, Shane Victorino and Jimmy Rollins. But, he did not seem too concerned about his players' safety.
"No, I'm not worried about the safety of any of my players," Dave said. "I don't know of anyone who would want to hurt Rauuuul. You'd think after two incidents that the security is going to be tight for the rest of the season."
Bob, on the other hand, was furious about what happened Tuesday night when a second fan in as many days ran onto the field. It clearly distracted Cole Hamels, who was on the verge of a complete-game shutout and in the middle of his windup when play was stopped.
"It messed with his mojo," Bob said. "He was dealing to that point. However, I'm not concerned for his safety as it was just another jackass fan."
Hal owns Hamels in a different league and was equally as angered, but he said he wouldn't feel the same way if Roy Halladay, the MVP of his 3-1 team, was on the mound.
"If that happened to Doc in the same situation I'd be worried," Hal said, "but i feel like his concentration level is on a whole other tier than that of Cole Hamels."
Mike, who owns Jayson Werth and Placido Polanco - players who are positioned near fans - said he doesn't want to see this happen again.
"It may have been a non-violent incident, but whenever a fan runs onto the field during play I fear for all my players," he said. "After what happened to my good friend Tom Gamboa (the Royals first-base coach who was attacked) we can't take any chances, and I applaud the measures taken by security."

Can I taser my entire team? My keepers (Peavy, Bay, and Tulo) might be in line to get tasered twice.

I will lend you a few of my players too. Tase em, keep em, do whatever you please....
ReplyDeleteSomeone please tase Grady. Hopefully that will stimulate the remaining steroids in his body that I'm sure he must have been taking in the past and the jackass will actually do something productive.
