Why aren't trades made?

One of the things I've come to realize with the Keeper League is that trades are seldom made.

Why is that, though? Trading is supposed to be an essential part of fantasy leagues. Yet we're lucky to see more than two or three trades in the league per year.

Here's the theories I've come up with.

1) Too much familiarity
Being in the league with each other for as long as we have, people just don't trust others to trade.

2) Too hard to trade for star power
With our keeper rules, it's very hard to trade for stars in this league. For some reason, lower-tier trades just aren't appealing to managers.

3) Ripoff assumption
People nowadays just assume they're getting the lesser part of the deal.

4) No urgency to change your team
With the buy-in a decent $50, teams don't like making changes and care too much about their original teams.

5) Stubbornness
People don't like they admitting they were wrong about a certain player or players, even if they have a need at that position.

6) No desire
Some people just don't have any desire to trade. Simple as that.

So...agree/disagree? I'd love to hear what you think/add on to my list in the comments.

  1. Well if my season continues in the direction its going, believe me there will be trades. I still got some faith, so not jumping in the trade boat yet.

But I will let it be known here, if I see myself not being able to make the playoffs, everyone on my team will be made available.
