Here is how we will do this. I will put up a post about a topic up for discussion along with a poll to the post and keep that open for a couple days until the vote is decided.
Today's topic is about whether we should add a keeper, beginning in 2012. Please note that, as it will not affect this year. If we were to add a keeper, it would mean we'd have four total. In that case, it would be 2 hitters and 2 pitchers, no exceptions.
Pros: This would expand our keeper system. It would also put more of an emphasis on drafting/valuing starting pitching, which some people argue is lacking. It adds to the offseason fun of deciding who to keep.
Cons: Does every team even have four guys they want to keep? Some teams may have had that terrible a year, they don't feel worthy of retaining four guys. And in regards to the pitching argument, that could be fool's gold. Many managers will tell you pitching wins. Keeping it at three keepers allows managers the option to choose to value hitting or pitching, rather than be locked into keeping two of each.
Votes needed to change: 8
Feel free to add on to the pros and cons in the comments. Remember, you only have one vote so use it wisely.
