Who else could be moved before the deadline?

With the trade deadline a week from Sunday, there could be some activity next week.

We've already seen one deal go down, and with reports that Carlos Beltran could be back in three weeks, is Ken regretting it?

Here's a look at some other players that could be dealt before the trade deadline. Unless noted, this is purely speculative.

Manny Ramirez (Adam)
Why? If Adam loses this week, and he's down 16-2, then it looks like he could be a seller instead of a buyer. Maybe Adam swings Manny, who's a free agent with potential to be resigned to one more year, for a couple of guys to make one last run or someone he can keep for longer.

Jered Weaver (Joe)
Why? Sources tell me he's been involved in trade talks the past two weeks.

Dan Meyer (Jack)
Why? Meyer must have done something to piss off Jack. He's been on the block for weeks!

Ben Zobrist, Matt Kemp (Dave)
Why? Because he likes trading these two for no reason, apparently.

Kevin Youkilis, Brian McCann (Andy)
Why? Sources tell me Andy is not happy with these two, who are both under .300. He's become so frustrated with them as of late that he's actively trying to trade them. Could he pull off a stunner and send Youkilis to a non-playoff team as a potential keeper?

Todd Helton (Ken)
Why? Ken is desperately looking for pitching and this has been a name tossed around. He's expendable now with the addition of Abreu.

Adam Lind (Richie)
Why? If Richie were smart, he'd be trying to snag a keeper for the future. Based on Richie's season, that means he probably stands pat.

Ian Kinsler (Mike)
Why? Mike has a hatred toward Kinsler and anything is possible as he tries to come up with a set of keepers for next year.

Adrian Gonzalez (Chris)
Why? If it weren't for Gonzalez's 3 home run week, I could see Chris making a move. Maybe not so much anymore, but it could be a name to keep an eye on, especially if he remains on the Padres.

Sources: Beltran trade imminent

A trade involving superstar Carlos Beltran is nearing completion, a source close to the negotiations has told the blog.

The source spoke on a condition of anonymity because the deal is not complete.

In the deal, Ken would receive either Bobby Abreu or Brad Hawpe from Mike for Carlos Beltran. Ken is deciding between the two, the source said.

"The accept button is coming soon," the source said.

When asked, Mike refused to acknowledge he was making the trade for the potential keeper.

"There is some substance to these rumors, nothing is definite yet," he said. "But there is a deal being discussed."

Mike would receive a definite keeper in his weak lineup, albeit it would signify the end of this season for him, as it would indicate him throwing in the towel.

Ken gets a .300 hitter as he continues his chase for a division title.

The source said both teams were wary of the deal being voted against in a veto-happy league, but thought it would go through because it involved a likely offseason keeper.
