Everything after the jump, for the sake of space.
Here are the standings right now:
Team .... Record ....GB
1) Bob.... 14-7-0 .........--
2) Jack....12-5-4 ........ --
3) Joe..... 13-7-1........ 0.5
4) Ken .....13-8-0........ 1
5) Andy.... 11-7-3 .....1.5
6) Chris .... 11-8-2 ......2
7) Ricky ....10-8-3..... 2.5
The top five teams have clinched - yes, Andy did, even though Yahoo! doesn't say it. Yahoo! didn't take into account Chris and Ricky playing each other this week.
The tiebreaker for divisions is division record, and Bob has that won - win or lose. The tiebreaker for playoff placement is Week 22 win percentage.
So, here we go:
For Chris to make the playoffs: He needs to win or tie.
For Ricky to make the playoffs: He needs to win.
Neither Chris, nor Ricky can be higher than the #5 seed.
For Bob to win the division and clinch the #1 seed: He needs to win
If Andy wins he can be anywhere from the #3-to-#5 seed.
For Jack to clinch the #1 seed: He needs to win and
For Joe to win the division: He needs to win AND he needs Bob to lose. He gets the #1 seed if that were to happen and Jack were to lose.
If Ken wins he is the #3 seed.
If Joe wins he can be no lower than the #3 seed.
There's obviously a ton of scenarios with people losing, far too many for me to get into. These are the most basic and easiest to understand.
I am not sure that is right. Bob and I have the same winning percentage (.667) going into this week, and if we end up tied after this week - then the tiebreaker would be Week 22 win percentage I believe.

I think I fixed the part I screwed up on earlier. The tiebreaker is Week 22 win percentage, so if you both win your win % is 1.000. So then it reverts back to Week 21, which Bob won and you tied. That's why I think he has the tiebreker right now.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I read it as week 22 win percentage - means the score of the match from week 22. I guess if we tie, we will find out.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
So did I originally (I crossed out parts of the original posts where I thought it was win margin). But then I went back to last year and saw that two teams tied for the 6th playoff spot - the one that made the playoffs didn't win as big as the other in Week 22 but won in Week 21 whereas the other team didn't.
