End of season review: No. 1 Bob

(Editor's note: This is the latest in a series of season evaluations based on power ranking trends. At the end, each manager will be given a final determination of overachiever, underachiever or expected achiever.)

And then there was one. Bob.

This is an incredibly interesting chart for our champ, who certainly experienced many ups and downs.

At one point, Bob, you even declared that you were looking ahead to 2010 and renamed your team the Cold Miners! Where's the faith?

Well, capped by a big midseason trade - that will go down as one of the most lopsided of our era - you rose to the top. Your complete evaluation after the jump.

At first glance, it's fascinating how your season just took a complete turn for the better. You were terrible for the first few weeks.

It looks like to make such a huge consistent leap like you did, it would seem like a big winning streak took place. And it did. You ended the regular season on a remarkable eight-game win streak and having won 12 of 13.

Pretty, pretty impressive. That doesn't even include the two playoff wins either, making it 10 straight and 14 of 15. Quite a run.

From the trade on, it was clear you had the best team. That'd be hard to argue. Maybe next year, players will be tentative to trade with you after seeing this season - let's hope.

We had you in the middle of the pack preseason, and maybe if you didn't make that trade that's where you would have finished. But that deal was clearly the turning point of your season, so more power to you.

Your one big question mark next year is Cole Hamels. Which one will show up, the good or the bad? Other than that, we see no reason why you aren't primed for a historic repeat run.

Final evaluation: Overachiever

  3. Ah, there's the bitter mac we all know well! You at least had a friend that dumped three solid players on your team, too bad that didn't turn out too well for you, huh? Better luck next year.
