Comparing keepers one year later, part 2

This is the second of a two-part post, analyzing each manager's preseason keepers and how the team stacks up compared to a year ago at this time.

We're looking at this from a short-term stance only, so years remaining will not be taken into account.

Now, we look at the Tiger Woods division.

Adam
Last year: Manny Ramirez, Derek Jeter, Josh Beckett
This year: Manny Ramirez, Dustin Pedroia, Josh Beckett
Analysis: Right now, Jeter is probably a bit more valuable than Pedroia, but Adam shouldn't suffer a big drop. A year ago, no one expected Jeter to do what he did, anyway.
Breakdown: Stayed the same

Bob
Last year: Ryan Braun, Erik Bedard, Cole Hamels
This year: Ryan Bruan, Prince Fielder, Cole Hamels
Analysis: Bob goes from an injury-prone pitcher to MVP candidate. No question about this one, even though Hamels' fantasy value is a lot different than it was a year ago.
Breakdown: Upgraded

Dave
Last year: Jimmy Rollins, Prince Fielder, John Lackey
This year: Jimmy Rollins, Evan Longoria, Adam Wainwright
Analysis: Tough call here, as he downgrades in hitting but upgrades in pitching. Probably a washout.
Breakdown: Stayed the same

Jack
Last year: Jason Bay, Miguel Cabrera, Jake Peavy
This year: Jason Bay, Troy Tulowitzki, Jake Peavy
Analysis: Tulowitzki might be able to make up for not resigning Cabrera, but Peavy a year ago was lights-out in a pitcher's park. Now, he's just trying to stay healthy.
Breakdown: Downgraded

Joe
Last year: Mark Teixeira, David Wright, Dan Haren
This year: Mark Teixeria, David Wright, A.J. Burnett
Analysis: A tough decision by Joe to let Haren go, and who knows whether it turns out to be the right one. For now, the team's not as good as it was this time last year.
Breakdown: Downgraded

Mike
Last year: Jose Reyes, Jon Lester, Justin Verlander
This year: Ian Kinsler, Tim Lincecum, Justin Verlander
Analysis: Huge get by Mike in snagging Lincecum, and even though Kinsler didn't live up to the expectations, he's still a strong player to have.
Breakdown: Upgraded
