Assessing the draft: Smutt Peddlers 5
(Editor's note: This is the latest in a series of posts briefly breaking down each team's draft. It will culminate in the debut of the 2010 Power Rankings at the end.)
Joe made his second consecutive trip to the league championship game last year, and he's established himself as a force. Few teams have had the success he has had, and he seems to just "get it" year in and year out. Still, as you'll find out, Joe's mood during the draft went up and down like a stock.
Focus: Pitching. Last year, Joe's pitching carried him, so it's no surprise that was the route he took in this year's draft. One has to wonder if, when making his keeper decisions this offseason, he had calculated Dan Haren being available in the first live round. If so, a fantastic move by him to keep the core in tact from last year. He had to have been thrilled.
Storyline: Joe's confusion during the draft was astounding. For someone so smart (insert jokes here), Joe left us all stunned when he couldn't figure out some of the most simple things. He wanted to know why the draft order seemed odd; he repeatedly had questions about the lost draft picks; it was like he was in his own little world during the two-hour period. Maybe something like a fantasy baseball draft is just too simple compared to the rigorous financial service industry.
Headscratcher: Why didn't Joe show up for the supplemental draft? Instead, he was forced to burn, not only a move, but his No. 1 waiver priority. Really strange.

I was too tired for the supplemental round. And I hope you know I was trying to get under your skin by constantly asking who i was supposed to draft in my forfeited pick
