Offseason keeper rankings

No, these aren't any official power or preseason rankings. But in the spirit of lists - everyone likes lists, right? - we present you the offseason rankings, based solely on keepers for this season only.

I gotta say, this was very hard for the most part, since just about every team has some great keepers. But, we took a shot anyway.

From worst to best, after the jump.

12. Joe (Tommy Hanson, Dan Haren, Victor Martinez)
In a real draft, would any of these players be drafted in, say, the first four rounds?

11. Mike (Ian Kinsler, Jon Lester, Jered Weaver)
He is only one of two teams with two pitchers. Kinsler will be key.

10. Ken (Bronson Arroyo, Carl Crawford, Cliff Lee)
Arroyo just sticks out like an African-American Jew would in North Dakota.

9. Rick (Ichiro, Josh Johnson, Joe Mauer)
A nice trio, but it just comes down to the fact that others' trios are much more potent.

8. Adam (Josh Hamilton, Dustin Pedroia, David Price)
We've reached the part of the rankings where it was really hard to find separation between teams.

7. Andy (Matt Cain, Carlos Gonzalez, Kevin Youkilis)
Will Gonzalez duplicate last season's success? If so, probably should be a little higher.

6. Bob (Nelson Cruz, Cole Hamels, Ryan Zimmerman)
Close between Andy's and Bob's keepers. Zim > Youk; Cargo > Cruz; Hamels > Cain? Tough call on the pitchers.

5. Dave (Ubaldo Jimenez, Matt Kemp, Evan Longoria)
Dave has the potential to start the season with the best roster he's ever had. Let's see if he takes advantage.

4. Hal (Jose Bautista, Roy Halladay, Dan Uggla)
Top-notch power hitter? Check. Top-notch pitcher? Check. Top-notch middle infielder? Check.

3. Shea (Miguel Cabrera, Felix Hernandez, Justin Morneau)
If Morneau isn't healthy, he'll be giving Shea headaches all season long.

2. Chris (Robinson Cano, Adrian Gonzalez, Zack Greinke)
If Greinke had been better last season, Chris probably would have been No. 1.

1. Jack (Chris Carpenter, Troy Tulowitzki, Joey Votto)
Arguably two of the game's top-five fantasy players with an annual Cy Young contender.
