A few adds, not necessarily to say these are the #1 for each category, but all deserve some mention.
ReplyDeleteWorst Drop - Annibal Sanchez by Bob, those #s speak for themselves
Player who Survived on a Roster Too Long - Rafael Soriano by Jack, mostly b/c he is a holds pitcher who was getting rocked and he wasted a DL spot for a few weeks while there were plenty of suitable replacements out there.
Worst Keeper Decision - Adam resigns Dustin Pedroia and loses a draft pick instead of signing Matt Holliday (and yes I am aware Pedroia had ONE good week this season).
Biggest Choke Artist - Adrian Gonzalez by Chris, guy can't deliver when it matters most. Hopefully his girlfriend/wife doesn't have the same complaint.
Some more late round gems: Ken - Beltran in the 17th round, Bob - Shields in the 15th round (5th best pitcher in Y! rankings), Chris - Jurrjens in the 18th round, Dave - Jhouyls Chacin in the 14th round
ReplyDeleteBest Pickup - Jack - Anibal Sanchez (on top of worst drop by Bob - nod to Mac)

ReplyDeleteBest Commish: Andy fucking Zuckerman.
Good job buddy, we love you.
Mike Yiannakou
ReplyDeleteNice black hole idea Cole, happy I didn't make that cut. And I dunno if I deserve credit for Freddie Freeman, Ive had him for less then a week. Who would be next behind him?
Lol awesome finale, Bob.
ReplyDeleteSome comments on yours...
-Agree on Beltran, he just missed my cut.
-Freeman was on Mike's roster for less than a week. Doesn't count.
-Can't believe I missed Sanchez and Shields
-Strasburg?! CMON don't you all know I'm gonna keep him next year?
One more (Yes, I'm bored and watching the ASG)
ReplyDeleteDL All-Star Team
C - Joe Mauer
1B - Justin Morneau
2B - Chase Utley
SS - Derek Jeter
3B - Ryan Zimmerman
OF - Carl Crawford
OF - Shin-Soo Choo
OF - Jason Heyward
DH - David Wright
SP - Josh Johnson/Zack Greinke
RP - Ryan Madson/Jonathan Broxton
Andy - Just acknowledging that Freeman is best rookie hitter so far (maybe D. Barney), not much eligible rookies out there quite yet, some studs are coming up now but don't have enough AB's to make my cut. As for Strasburg, the guy had Tommy John late last year, he won't return this year and is iffy to even pitch the first month or so next year. Plus everyone knows coming off Tommy John you aren't completely right until the season after. So, as of right now, he is a black hole on your roster, but up for argument I guess haha.
ReplyDeleteOh no doubt about it. Maybe I'll go with Wainwright instead. Lol what a disastrous year.

ReplyDeleteI'm bored without late night baseball games to watch for fantasy purposes. This sucks.

ReplyDeleteWord Mets traded Krod to Brewers.
Shit, I need Axford for saves.
Wow. I woke up and saw this news thanks to that comment Mike. The blog as the source of breaking news!
ReplyDeleteOK here are a few thoughts.
ReplyDelete1) Nice job on the mid-season awards by the Commish and the supplemental rankings/additions/etc by Chris, Bob and Mike.
2) It's technically past mid-season, with a 22 match regular season and 14 matches behind us (approx 64%) - hey call me a stickler for details.
3) On the players/moves mentioned on my team;
- Yes David Wright has definitely earned the award that was given to him at this point - we are working LVP's into all future contracts for some type of penalty.
- Yes the loss to the Fireballs/We Going Money hurt big time - not so much because of who we lost to (there seems to be some serious hating on that franchise of late) - but because my team pulled a complete el foldo that entire week - especially over the weekend, and in such a tight race that W would have helped big time.
- Picking up Sanchez looks great now, but was a little scary as that team in Florida was awful at that time, losing every game they played it seemed. More luck then foresight -trust me.
- Yes I kept the Fonz a bit longer then I should have but with two DL spots I made a calculation to try to warehouse him, which of course derailed when I needed the second spot for David Wright (I believe), which at that point I cut his overpaid backside.
Enjoy the rest of the season, should be very close all the way around, lots of solid teams and real legit races for each division and playoff spots.
- JACK
P.S. World Series Predictions? OK I will start, Yanks over the Phillies (don't have a stroke fellas, its all in good taste).
Nod to Yanks over Phillies.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget I drafted Danny Espinosa in the last rd. (He was picked up and dropped a bunch of times by me too after that for stiffs.. ext )
- Joe (from sunny San Diego)
Don't worry... I didn't forget you drafted Danny Espinosa in the last round.
ReplyDeleteMike Yiannakou
ReplyDeleteI wanted to text you Andy, but I knew it was past the deadline, so I figured this was the next best option.
Way past the deadline...Bob, and maybe Shea, too, have been scolded in the past as well.
ReplyDeleteMike Yiannakou
ReplyDeleteHaha good I am not the only one, i've learned my lesson. Just love when I'd text you something retarded (Jagr agent contacts NHL teams), and you'd get all fired up.
