Assessing the draft: Snooki Punch

(Editor's note: This is the latest in a series of posts briefly breaking down each team's draft. It will culminate in the debut of the 2010 Power Rankings at the end.)

Andy seems to have a draft pick in the middle each year because he is usually a one-and-done manager come the playoffs. He has yet to advance past the first round, and hasn't made a name for himself.

Focus: Pitching. And surprisingly. Andy almost never goes this route, but something must have changed this season. Three of his first six live picks were starting pitchers, a year after taking one in the first eight last year.

Storyline: Doubling as the commish, Andy had to reel in control at the draft after things got chaotic. Did this affect how he drafted? It certainly might have, as he was busy trying to keep track of lost draft picks and roster changes.

Headscratcher: Jason Heyward in the 14th round?! Seriously? Someone tell Andy this isn't a long-term keeper league where he can lock him up for storage. This was way too early to take this kid and plug him in as a starter. He is unproven and might not even start the season in the outfield.
