Week 7 Power Rankings
Here are this week's KLS5 Power Rankings. As always, this is a subjective process, and there isn't any specific formula used to determine the rankings.
All complaints should be sent to the Commissioner's office of the league. Team record in parenthesis, and previous week's ranking follows the slash.
1. Cole Miners (6-1) / 2 - A familiar sight at No. 1, as Bob can thank James Shields for a huge win vs. Chris.
2. Smutt Peddlers 5 (5-1-1) / 3 - Joe grinds out another win, with help from Andy's bad managerial moves.
3. Turd n the punchbowl (5-2) / 5 - Three-game win streak, two-game lead in the division, and a win over the top-ranked team.
4. Billy Ball (4-2-1) / 4 - Absolute obliteration of Shea, the second largest margin of victory by anyone all season.
5. Bernie Madoff (4-2-1) / 1 - One loss sends top-ranked team down to 5th. Shows how good the upper-tier of league is.
6. Minnesota Twins (3-4) / 7 - Heartbreaking loss to Bob proves Chris just not ready to make the leap into elite yet.
7. DUIs & MRIs (3-4) / 6 - Shea, Andy and Chris now a combined 1-5 since making three-way trade. Redo?
8. Draft wasn't Wed (2-4-1) / 10 - Bottom of the league is so bad this year that a two-win team gets a ranking as high as 8.
9. We Going Money (1-4-2) / 11 - Rick and Dave each now have nine career ties, with three against each other.
10. Charlene Murphy? (2-5) / 12 - Others shaking heads after seeing Hal come out with a win (.170 BA, 4.48 ERA, 8 losses)
11. The Underperformers (2-5) / 9 - Bad team, bad managing, bad season so far.
12. Phightin Sillies (2-5) / 8 - Time to start the rebuilding effort, Adam.

bob's pitching wasn't fair last week. best pitching week ever? it's possible.
ReplyDeleteThats atleast the second time Cole had an amazing pitching week. Hopefully this week its the opposite. Go Madoff.
ReplyDeleteMike what do you think about the schmuck Fred Wilpon's comments?
ReplyDeleteYea, I had one week where I was 6-0 with a 1.17 ERA and 0.89 WHIP but it was only in like 60 innings so I think this week was probably better since it was in almost 100 innings. As for Mike, hopefully it's a repeat this week, go Cole.
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie, I can agree with some of the comments he made. But a little disheartening hearing them come from our owners mouth. Always something new to make the organization look like a circus. Even dumber considering we will probably be trading Reyes and Beltran at some point this year. Worst part of it is no mention of Jason Bay.
ReplyDeleteYour turn. What did you think? Others welcome to chime in, please.
Another question. I voted for Chris, cause hes my boy. But why is everyone else rooting for Chris? I thought Shea would get some votes.
ReplyDeleteI like the trend of Chris getting votes. To answer your question Mike there is no way an owner should make those comments publicly or on the record. Don't know how any player would want to play for a guy like that. Talk about a slap in the face to two of the bigger profile faces of the franchise...
ReplyDeleteMike - I honestly think he forgot who he was talking to and forgot he was on the record. What a PR nightmare. Why would he say that stuff to a reporter?? Just a disaster that ownership group.
ReplyDeleteOh, and move the Citi Field outfield wall in a few feet.
It is possible he forgot he would be on record. But seriously, its the Mets, it's not that suprising. Its a joke he would even say that to someone with the smallest possibilty of it being made public. Keep those conversations between him and Bernie.
ReplyDeleteA few feet? Jesus, can we cut it down by like 50. Are there rules on shortening fences, or we do as we please? I think I remember Tigers doing it soon after their new ball park. And I haven't read up on it recently, but last I heard, I remember us saying we were satisfied with the dimensions.
I voted for a tie, it seems fitting.
