A war of words?

Unprovoked Thursday night, Joe channelled his inner Mark Messier and announced that he guaranteed a victory this week against Adam.

He trailed 12-5 at the time of the announcement and has gone through a tumultuous couple of weeks. A three-game losing streak filled with brutal defeats has Joe back in the middle of the pack instead of at the top.

Joe also expressed frustration over the fact that he would be beating most other teams. But, we've all experienced that at one point or another.

Maybe this was Joe's way of trying to motivate his team. After hearing of Joe's guarantee, Adam, who has undoubtedly outmanaged his opponent this week, responded with some fighting words of his own.

"Ohh really?" Adam said. "My team is about to shit in his mouth because .. We are the champs bitch!!"

About two minutes after the two exchanged words, Adam's Dustin Pedroia smacked a homer to back up his manager. But, by night's end, Joe's squad cut into the lead. Adam only leads 10-8 now.

Things are heating up, folks.

  5. it is possible true, he will probably take the place of that aging fossil who still gets a paycheck.. ya know your boy Jaime Moyer who boasts a healthy 5.99 era and 1.59 whip... above average pitcher eh? send out the hearse and put that old girl down.

  7. That was Joe with that comment, this is the only one I will make on Moyer, probably lol. Over his career as a whole he is an above average pitcher which is what my argument was. Is he above average at this stage in his career? hell no, he may lead the team in wins (sad) but look at the numbers Mac presented. I was never talking about now though, the guy is in the top 5 of lefty pitcher wins of all time, I'm pretty sure that is above average. Anyways, if we had Halladay, Moyer would not pitch an inning in the playoffs Ron. Our rotation would be Hamels, Halladay, Blanton, Happ, so Moyer wouldn't be a factor in our quest to repeat as WFC's
