Who's laughing now, Mike?

Let's flash back in time for a minute.

(Screen fades to black, then we quickly find ourselves in late March)

I pointed out these three players on Mike's team after giving him the 8-spot in the preseason rankings: Delgado, Harden and Lidge. Those were the three make-or-break players, and what do you know, all three have been breaks.


Mike replied to my preseason rankings, "Shouldn't be hard to prove these rankings wrong" along with CONSTANT instant messages and texts about how wrong I was in giving him a low ranking.

We flash back to present day now.

(Screen fades to black, we find ourselves in July again)

What now Mike? Who's laughing now? Well, I guess you have proven the rankings wrong so far - you're in 9th!

Now, I know I don't usually take personal pot shots at players like this, but I couldn't help myself. Mike gave me soooooo much crap for ranking his team low that I just needed to call him out for it after seeing last night's message to the league basically throwing in the towel.

Then, when he started out 2-0 he puffed his shirt and got cocky, trash talking me, etc., etc. Now he's 6-7, on the verge of missing the playoffs for the second straight year after a finals appearance, and trying to firesale!

He has an easy schedule left, so who knows? He could turn it around. But judging by his body language (RE: Putting his best players on the trading block to look ahead to 2010) I have a feeling he is in trouble.

Just as I predicted in the beginning of the season. Now, of course, he'll go on a 5-game winning streak and make me look like a dope. But, hey, that's the beauty of the trash talk, I suppose.
