Unlikely sources helping Chris

Chris is currently crushing Hal, 14-3, about halfway through their semifinal matchup. Hal has a lot of work to do on offense if he is going to get back in this.

That could be tough if Chris' recent pickups keep doing what their doing. Having to make moves because of injuries to Scott Podsednik and Andres Torres, Chris picked up Drew Stubbs and Ryan Raburn. Combined, in four games, they have eight hits, three homers, eight RBIs, a stolen base and 19 total bases.

From two recent pickups.

"Come September, teams turn to and rely on guys that are seeing and hitting the ball well," Chris said. "Right now, that is what we are doing, and these guys are not disappointing us."

Hal can do nothing but shake his head as he tries to mount a comeback to make it to the league championship.

"Got to tip your hat to him," Hal said. "Those were two good pickups. I had eyed both of them at one point, but I had no one to drop out of the starting lineup. Picked up the right guys at the right times. I had it work in my favor with (Juan) Pierre and (Omar) Infante."
