Catching up with ex-MTL Keeper League manager Richie!

The MTL Keeper League manager formerly known as sportsfan898 has given an exclusive interview to the blog, which contacted him over the weekend in an attempt to catch up on things.

Richie, who now prefers to go by Rich, reflected on his time in the league, in which he resigned after 2009 with a terrible .379 career winning percentage (25-41). He looked back on some of the good and bad moments and praised the league members for helping him to become a better overall fantasy player.

Below is our interview.

Commish: How is life? Update our fellow league members on how things are.

Rich: Life is good; just graduated from Rowan University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. This fall, I plan on attending Widener Law school.

Commish: Are you in any other fantasy baseball leagues right now?

Rich: I am in two Yahoo fantasy leagues right now and doing good in both.

Commish: Do you think you learned a lot from our league and our managers? Did you feel over-matched?

Rich: l was used to public leagues before joining the league so I learned a lot about keeper leagues. I also learned about new statistics that I didn't have to plan for in the past, such as holds. I might of had a slight learning curve but I didn't feel over-matched because I was comfortable in my abilities to adapt as the season went on. I was in the playoff hunt during my time in the league and even finished 3rd my first year, I think.

Commish: How did playing fantasy baseball with us mature you?

Rich: I would say I matured in the fact that I went out of my comfort zone and participated in a more challenging and competitive level of fantasy baseball than I was previously used too. Being in a keeper and a pay league made me pay much more attention to my actions because of the obvious consequences.

Commish: Hal, who took over your team, won the division in Year 1. Any comments?

Rich: I am happy for Hal and congratulate him on any accomplishments he might achieve with my old team.
