Week 9 Power Rankings

Here are this week's KLS7 Power Rankings. As always, this is a subjective process, and there isn't any specific formula used to determine the rankings.

All complaints should be sent to the commissioner. Team record in parenthesis, and previous week's ranking follows the slash.

1. Goldschmember (8-1) / 1 - For once, it's not me getting into a sparring match with Bob. Check out the blog's comments on last week's Power Rankings for some entertainment.

2. The Allen Websters (5-4) / 2 - Perfect scenario for Hal last week: Cobb scratched from start, which was on the final day before trade with Bob processed. Then, Moreland gets 1 hit in 2 games.

3. Ahh Herro-o (6-3) / 3 - Dave's Asian Invasion of Iwakuma and Ryu continue to be remarkable, and quite possibly the steals of the draft -- back-to-back picks in Rounds 18 and 19.

4. Cole Miners (5-4) / 5 - Not a misprint: Chris Davis and Dom Brown combined for 18 R, 25 H, 11 HR, 19 RBI, 61 TB, .463 AVG and 1.621 OPS.

5. Give Sosa a Chance! (5-4) / 6 - Gotta wonder if it's time to cut ties with R.A. Dickey, no?

6. Los Pollos Hermanos (5-4) / 7 - Last year, Jack drafted Bryce Harper, cut him and Andy grabbed him right before call-up. This year, same exact thing with Yasiel Puig. Will it matter?

7. Suck Peddlers (5-4) / 4 - Didn't we say it'd all even out for Joe? Blowout losses to below-.500 teams the last two weeks.

8. Nyjer Please (4-5) / 9 - Mike (and Ken) stuck in the wrong division. At 4-5, he'd be 1 GB if he were in the Kekua. In the Te'o, he's 4 GB.

9. Backdoor Slider (4-5) / 8 - Harper on the DL. Strasburg likely going on the DL. Those Nats are turning into Gnats to Ken's season.

10. Fireballs (3-6) / 11 - Rick vs. Jack this week in what could very well already be an elimination match. Anyone want to argue that the loser isn't basically cooked?

11. Billy Ball (2-7) / 10 - Jack's team hit seven home runs on Wednesday, and hit a combined three home runs the other six days. Incredible.

12. TurnThisShitArounndd (2-7) / 12 - Adam ends one streak (6-game losing streak) but not another (ranked last for the 4th week in a row).
