We've finally reached the point where it starts to get fun and interesting.
Yes, it's time to declare keepers. I will go over a big refresher after the jump because I know this is a pivotal offseason where many big names could be re-signed or let go.
The keeper declaration period has begun - I will announced mine to the first person who tells me his, so there is no funny business. The period will last until next Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. That should be plenty of time to mull over the decision.
A crash course on our keeper system:
Here are the league rules with the accompanying keeper/draft pick chart.
Here are the current keepers.
If your keeper has a (0/X) next to his name, his contract has expired. You MUST take action. Your choices are to release him and keep someone else on your roster OR you can re-sign him for the final year or years (X) and forfeit the accompanying draft pick as seen in the chart on league rules. There is no penalty for releasing him and signing someone else (for up to three years).
If you have a keeper with a (1) or (2), you have that guy locked under contract for that many more seasons. If you do not want to keep this player, you can cut him and forfeit the accompanying draft pick as seen in the chart on league rules.
If you want to re-sign two expiring contracts or cut two contracts, you will lose consecutive draft picks.
To access your roster, you can click your Yahoo! user name and go to last year's team. Hal, I will e-mail you yours since you do not have access to it.
If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to ask me.
E-MAIL ME YOUR KEEPER PICKS, DO NOT POST THEM IN THE COMMENTS SECTION HERE. NO ONE WILL KNOW ABOUT ANYONE'S DECISIONS UNTIL EVERYONE HAS DECLARED. ONCE YOU SUBMIT THEM, THEY ARE FINAL.
