From Darren Rovell:
Sock liner in cleat Jeter will wear tonight includes contract he signed w/father day before high school http://twitpic.com/5mknxt
And from Kimberly Jones:
On 9/9/09, Jeter needed 3 hits to tie Gehrig for most hits in Yankees history. He got them, off Rays' Jeff Niemann. Niemann on mound tonite.
Another little stat I saw. Cant remember the exact number. But something along the lines of last 5 players (example number)to get 3000 hits, rotated on home and road. Its Jeters turn to do it on the road.

ReplyDeleteI thought NYY were on road with TB, whoops. Regardless, I hate the Yanks, but respect Jeter. Good for him when he gets it.

ReplyDeleteHaha, I am the only one who voted the first option.
Side note. Someone I played Little League baseball with got Sheffield's 500th homerun ball, he didn't hold it for ransom. He took the invitation to the clubhouse, met some players, got tickets and threw out first pitch in a game at a later time.
Seems like the respectable thing to do, although my vote may change if I did get my hands on that ball.
No you aren't the only person who voted the first option I did too. Sources tell me that 3 out of the 4 voters for holding it for a ransom were Andy, Adam and Hal .. hmm weird...
ReplyDeleteI am a genius for my poll
ReplyDeleteI would definitely have held it for ransom. The estimates were $300k to $400k, it's like winning a mini-lottery. I got student loans to pay haha.
